The lamppost in front of my house already has seen a lot in its life. It has been hit by cars and trucks at least twice, and then of course there are the many ugly politician faces on election posters that disfigure its pretty face every few years. The latest accident happened this morning when the Christmas tree for our village square was delivered. Unfortunately, it was a little too wide for the road and extended over the edge of the truck's bed. The poor lamppost got its head shaved off by the tree, with a rather unpleasant sound, but it's best if you hear it for yourself.

I recently decided to put my Voloco songs on tape. These are the songs I made with it this year and last year (though mostly this year). I found a blank cassette that I have, and I recorded the songs with my CRS 132 tape player and recorder. I didn't start with my recent song, because the first time I did that, when the tape was done, it was playing one of the songs from last year, but not my vary last one. Instead I started with the song The Summertime that I made back in July. Also, I noticed that the vocals were pretty loud. In fact, I didn't just record one take of this, it was multiple. In fact, in this tape I had my volume like at 1%, and the vocals were still choppy, depending on which song that was playing. Despite that problem, I hope you enjoy it anyway.

One of the clips here inspired me to try this myself, that is replacing sounds.dat in psycho strike with the one from the gate since they use the same engine and encryption. Many files from psycho strike were missing, so it was totally unplayable lol. I wish I could somehow repack it and make a full the psycho gate experience just for fun.
So if anyone has an idea how to achieve that then hit me up on dm.
Listen to me going through the party level and struggling with errors popping one after another.

We’re excited to present the second demo recording of content from the upcoming update.
This recording showcases the gameplay of one of the new game modes. In this mode, your task is to score goals by hitting the ball into the goal. The more goals you score, the higher your score will be.
After each goal, the target shifts to a different position along the horizontal axis.
You’ll need to aim for the goal without taking long pauses, as each successive goal increases your streak. This means that each subsequent goal earns you more points than the previous one.
The size of the playing field is limited by a bar at the top, which limits the ball’s movement.
The recording also demonstrates several effects applied to the goal.
The opportunity to activate an effect is accompanied by a special sound, along with a unique looping sound for each effect. Over time, the tone of the looping sound changes, letting you know that the activation window is about to close. To trigger an effect, you must hit the ball against the bar.
The recording showcases three effects: continuous movement of the goal, raising the goal upward and locking the goal in place.

So, once I had a game boy and some cartridge with a sticker peeled off. The music sounded interesting so I've recorded it, but I wanna find the original module. Any idea which game that might be from? It was either gb or gbc, not sure about that. The sound and stereo field are rich enough it makes me suspect that is gbc.

From the invention of modems up until the V.34 standard (28.8kbps to 33.6kbps), nothing more than an analogue phone line between two modems was necessary for achieving communications. But starting with V.90 (the first official ITU 56k standard, predated only by unofficial, manufacturer developed standards such as X2 and K56 Flex), in order to achieve the higher download speeds, ISPs had to make use of digital ISDN phone lines, and special digital modems.
The telephone network has been digitally switched in many areas since at least the 1980s, and the compression methods used in such switching systems limits the theoretical maximum data rate of any modem conversation, so eliminating one of the two conversion steps of a normal analog -> digital -> analogue phone call by using a digital modem on the ISP (or BBS) side allowed for the faster 56k speeds.
To determine what kind of conditions they're dealing with in order to try to handshake 56k download,, V.90 and V.92 modems perform a procedure known as "Digital Impairment Learning". In layman's terms, the originating modem (the one in your PC), sends a request to the receiving digital modem (at your ISP), asking it to make a particular noise. The originating modem then listens to this noise to figure out what data, if any, is being clobbered by digital compression on the line, and to negotiate around these impairments, to establish a stable connection, at the cost, of course, of speed. Upload speeds are not affected by any of this, because your originating modem is on a normal analogue PSTN line (telephone modems never went above 33.6k upload to my knowledge).
Because the originating modem is free to choose what sound is played during DIL, different manufacturers used different sounds, and so they can be used to identify what type of modem someone used to make a connection.
