Live Chat

datajake1999 05/04/2026

Your mic is a little clippy, and I don't hear the comment TTS.

datajake1999 05/04/2026

Just try to talk a little quieter, or reduce the input gain on your Zoom.

datajake1999 05/04/2026

It's at a good volume. How did you lower the mic volume?

datajake1999 05/04/2026

A little, but the clipping sounds like it's mostly analog.

datajake1999 05/04/2026

Chat reader wasn't enabled on my side, this might result in comments being automatically read out on my side.

Radiant 05/04/2026

you may want to route that mike to disable stario panning. it is a little, unusual.

The Byte Bender 05/04/2026

You're slightly clipping but perfectly centered. The music is a little loud though

datajake1999 05/04/2026

Did you change it on the REAPER side or the Zoom?

datajake1999 05/04/2026

I asked because you can set your Zoom to output mono audio.

datajake1999 05/04/2026

It sounds good now, you don't have to change anything else.

datajake1999 05/04/2026

Today's stream snack is Chips Ahoy Cookies.

datajake1999 05/04/2026

The chewy ones. I have Orioes as well.

The Byte Bender 05/04/2026

Thanks for using the pub! I wasn't there for your earlier podcasts. What's this about?

datajake1999 05/04/2026

Start by going over your podcast history.

datajake1999 05/04/2026

Interesting, the chat reader has different modes.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

Lol. I like that music. Sounds like something I would use in my game.

The Byte Bender 05/04/2026

Polite and assertive screen reader modes will output chats as hidden live aria for your screen reader. Polite just means it will not interrupt your screen reader if it's speaking. Those will not work if you're not inside the tab. System tts uses your system voices which works outside the tab

datajake1999 05/04/2026

I might. You also might want to link to the music.

The Byte Bender 05/04/2026

If you're using the system tts reading mode, you can press escape inside the tab to silence the tts if it gets annoying.

The Byte Bender 05/04/2026

It silence current speech. Think pressing ctrl to shut NVDA up

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

Hey Bender. First of all, how's it? Second, I mentioned this in another live stream. But, I wonder if the host could in the future be able to invite guest speakers to the live streams?

The Byte Bender 05/04/2026

I don't think I'll be adding guest speakers to live streams. My mindset is that if you trust someone enough to get them on air with you, where they could say anything, then you can probably get them on discord, teamtalk, google Meet, anything else. However, Audiopub is open source!

Open link?

You're about to open an external link:

https://github.com/the-byte-bender/audiopub-sv

I will not reject that as a contribution :)

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

fare enough, fare enough. Just thought I'd give a shot at asking.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

Yes, please demo this. I need to learn to use reaper anyways.

Radiant 05/04/2026

would you mind if we all start streaming and open each other's stream to use it as a communication platform :p

datajake1999 05/04/2026

You could demo some of those 150 GB mainstream games you love so much.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

Is the Pixabay stuff free by chance? Do they also have sounds?

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

You know this is much easier to work with rather than having to get stuff set up for youtube or even twitch.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

Can you be sure to make this reaper demo for dummies? Lol? I am dumb when it comes to trying to understand reaper as there is so so so much involved in it.

datajake1999 05/04/2026

It won't be easy, as REAPER is rather involved.

Radiant 05/04/2026

I'm fine with reaper. I need to branch out in something, either sound design or music.

datajake1999 05/04/2026

There is also plenty of info about REAPER accessibility online.

The Byte Bender 05/04/2026

I could play sounds when a listener comes or leaves, but people might not want to be known by name if they're not sending chats so I don't think I should do name announcements

datajake1999 05/04/2026

We have more listeners than the other stream.

The Byte Bender 05/04/2026

Also if you want you can use the #audiopub hashtag on Mastodon and I'll boost you!

The Byte Bender 05/04/2026

You could edit that post to add a little context so people don't just see a link

datajake1999 05/04/2026

The cookies were great. Ginger ale indeed.

datajake1999 05/04/2026

Do we have any Harry Potter fans in the audience?

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

For sure. Even a lot of the fan fiction.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

I wrote a fan fiction manager so you could search for, download and read them directly in the app.

Radiant 05/04/2026

Molly Raesly is my favorite hp fanfic author.

Radiant 05/04/2026

I think it's the highest listener count the stream got.

datajake1999 05/04/2026

I think so. Everything from silence to stuttering audio.

The Byte Bender 05/04/2026

Yes but do you plan to stream for 10 hours straight?

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

The fan fiction manager named Haven Reader is still going to be released. I have been needing to fix TTS engine bugs and a few other issues. But it is getting closer. Sorry for the announcement and then the long wait.

The Byte Bender 05/04/2026

And if you use AAC it would still sound very reasonable

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

Do you play VCMI or Heros of Might and Magic 3 by chance?

datajake1999 05/04/2026

Imagine if there were 10 hour live streams of nothing but people sleeping.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

I may do a stream on some of the programs I have been working on.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

I have win 11 pro. I got it for 15 dollars.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

I think so? But, I'm not to sure. Maybe in passing somewhere?

datajake1999 05/04/2026

No, my day sucks. My primary computer exploded, which doesn't explain how I am able to join a live stream.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

I really like coffee. But, I can't drink it anymore because it really messes up my stomach.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

Wild Cherry Pepsy, cherry Coke, even the new Cherry Coke Float. I love all of those.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

BTW, there is a pretty much life long story as to my nick name here.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

When I was about 7. I was in Shriner's to have surgery. You know when you are in recovery and you are a kid, people bring you toys and all that to comfort you and make you feel good. Well, one of those things was the Fisher Price Puffalump Dino Roar. A stegosaurus. It has nylon on the outside, and stuffing inside that. and a tube with a read at the end. If you squeeze it and let go, it makes a somewhat roaring like sound. Well even sense then, I have always liked nylon stuff like jackets and sleeping bags, and now blankets. I have also found all the different dino roars.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

Also, I didn't know it was nylon of course at that age. so, the first world that came to my mind was "Silky". so, now, I call nylon silky. Lol.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

I know it sounds childish. But, I believe I have autism. Or something as it is a big confort to me. I get nervice in hospitals so, I bring one of the little dino roars with me.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

I've gotten a lot of flack for it. People are like, you are an adult now, you shouldn't be acting like that. But, I just can't let the silky thing go.

datajake1999 05/04/2026

In future streams you might want to have any planned songs in your playlist before the stream.

datajake1999 05/04/2026

What I meant is music for special occasions such as today.

datajake1999 05/04/2026

I think so. What I was referring to was the Imperial March. You could have that already in your playlist before the stream started.

datajake1999 05/04/2026

You could have downloaded it as an MP3 from another source.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

Somehow, Sir Howard I think used apple music. I thought I heard him switch to that wind to start and stop the music. Not to sure though.

datajake1999 05/04/2026

No, possibly because Apple Music has safeguards against audio capturing.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

I just don't know how S H did it. Again, I could have sworn I heard him using Apple music.

datajake1999 05/04/2026

I would bet you that Spotify also has some kind of capture protection in place.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

I hope I can set things up to stream here soon. I just don't know how to do all that. Lol.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

Lol. I have heard this cord progression so many times in the same order in so many different pieces of music.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

OH, I think 2 songs back from this one, the piece I heard I have heard in other music I have listened to and I think I even have some of them downloaded.

datajake1999 05/04/2026

Now introducing, eating live streams.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

There is a term for that. where you hear someone eating. I forgot what it is though..

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

I am doing pretty good. I don't feel to good because of my stomach.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

No, not ASMR. Something where part of it is muc or something?

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

OK, from chat GPT.

Ahh, I think I know what you’re reaching for.
The word you’re remembering is likely “mukbang.”
That comes from the Korean term Mukbang (먹방), which refers to videos or streams where someone eats food—often with very emphasized chewing and mouth sounds. A lot of that content overlaps heavily with ASMR, especially when it focuses on the sound of eating (crunching, slurping, chewing, etc.).
So in short:

Mukbang = the content/style (people eating on camera, often with sound focus)

ASMR eating sounds = the audio experience within that
People will sometimes say “ASMR mukbang” when it’s specifically about the sounds.

kezz.b 05/04/2026

have I just joined up to a muckbang asmr session?

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

Here's another one of those songs with that same cord progression I spoke of earlier.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

I am a musician. I have a strong ear for this kind of stuff. Lol.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

same basic cords again. damn, 3 in a row. Lolololol.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

Different melidies. but, the over all base line if you will is the same notes in the same order.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

Oh, slower, but the same thing again!!!!!. Wow.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

Sorry, I don't . I know it tells me to log in to add comments.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

Are they new? Maybe they have to be authorized by the admins?

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

I am here. Just setting up VCMI Access.

The Byte Bender 05/04/2026

I'm so sorry for that inconvenience. We used to be open registration but people abused that and moderation became really difficult.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

A mod to make Heros of Might and Magic 3 accessible for us blindies.

datajake1999 05/04/2026

Anyone over the age of 25 is declared an old person.

datajake1999 05/04/2026

You have two people giving you a hard time now.

The Byte Bender 05/04/2026

I'll be working on that. Another thing in the works is actual push notifications

The Byte Bender 05/04/2026

No, it's for uploads and streams. Imagine following a person and getting an actual notification on your computer / phone when they start streaming or upload something

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

What about a chat sent and received sound as well? and the user could choose to turn any of the sounds on or off?

Krazy_person 05/04/2026

Also, another thing is with every new comment you have to scroll, so mabye auto scroll or somtning?

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

I like this system of being able to hear all the chats as they come in. You don't get that with youtube or twitch.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

OH no, here is yet another of those same cord progressions again. Lol.

Krazy_person 05/04/2026

Alr, well imma dip. See yall later!

datajake1999 05/04/2026

Mayson is good at breaking things, as he does it all the time.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

Again? Uh? Damn, how many songs can you do with the same base cords? Lol?

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

Nah, nothing on you bro. Just these folks don't seem to have any better ideas. Lol.

The Byte Bender 05/04/2026

I source most my music from Feslyan studios. Very tastefully done music and they produce excellent depressing music which is right up my aly!

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

No copy-write. They have some good music. Not sure if I said that name correctly.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

You can find no copy-write on youtube I believe.

The Byte Bender 05/04/2026

No. You can download and use them for free unless you use them for something comertial

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

This sounds like something from the Lord of the Rings.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

Sounds like when they go to mordor. Damn, I can't spell some of these names.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

Damn cord progression. Go... Away... Lol. JK. leave it.

datajake1999 05/04/2026

For all we know AI helped with the composition process.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

Nah. this is def not AI. sounds way to clear for that. I mean, some are getting better with the artifacts for sure. But, this is not AI.

datajake1999 05/04/2026

The final audio definitely isn't AI.

datajake1999 05/04/2026

We have been live for almost 3 hours.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

Now, this is all at least vst's. It doesn't have the natural full elements of a string section.

datajake1999 05/04/2026

It counts as good in my book, as it wasn't created simply by prompting.

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

It's cool. Just putting what I notice out there. Lol. Sorry, Told you I was a musician. I just catch on to this stuff to easily. Lol.

The Byte Bender 05/04/2026

Individually I believe. At least that's how I get my stuff

SilkyDinoRoar 05/04/2026

I am still on the stream. But, I need to step away for a bit.

datajake1999 05/04/2026

I predict that sooner or later a cat will join the stream.
