Description:
I decided to record samples from a talking multimeter that I bought on aliexpress last year. My main goal was to clone that voice on eleven labs and mess around with it, but I'm uploading samples in case anyone is interested how it sounds like. I've recorded it with a contact mic connected to my sound card. Yeah I know I'm supposed to use an audio interface with those things but I don't have one currently.

You should probably really use an electromagnetic pickup coil for this type of work. They can be had for not much money. It's a suction cup that you put up against usually the speaker of the device being sampled, and it has a cord with a mini plug. This will capture the electromagnetic output of the device, without regard to how the speaker might sound inside whatever case it's in.

May you please suggest any model that is available on amazon or aliexpress? I have no idea what I'm looking for, like I know what pick up coil is but nothing more than that.

You can actually buy talking multimeters? Oh man, I've been looking for something like this for years, I'd get loads of use out of one!

I don't know any specific brands or models. If you're in the US, they generally only cost a few bucks. Look for something like telephone pickup coil, suction cup telephone recording device, etc. Not sure what they're actually calling them these days.

only found pickup coils for guitars sadly, and no I'm not from the US
