Description:
Hi guys. This idea was on my mind from the moment, when on AudioPub appeared LiveStreams. I thought, It would be nice to play with some of this community on the small jam session using Jamulus (In a moment I explain what is this) and transmit it to listeners.
Jamulus is a program, with you can play on the internet with several people with small latency. Latency isn't very high, it is noticeable, but it isn't very annoing. It is accessible, and you can without any major problems use it with NVDA.
I would like to ask you about several things related to this:
- Is there any interest in the topic among instrumentalists? Would anyone be willing to join something like this?
- If you decide to join, which way of communication while plaing you prefere? I thought about some teamtalk server, because you can quickly switch your microfone on and off with one click, even you arn't inside TT window?
- What would you imagine the repertoire we would play? Personally, I was thinking about complete improvisation ;). It would be difficult to determine something specific, so it's best to simply "go for it without planning :)".
- Maybe you have some other idea of make it? Maybe you know better alternative of Jamulus or completely different "look at it"? Feel free to write about it!
I guess that's all I wanted to ask you about.
I wish you a nice day.
Thanks for reading :).

I would use teamtalk, and yeah improvisation should work. I like this idea.

If I weren't so busy, I could do it... and I don't know that app, I only know Sonobus. What's different about this one?

I don't really know what Sonobus is - so it's hard for me to say ;). It reminds me of sonorous, but I don't know if they are the producer of this program :D.
Edit: this even seems cooler. You don't need servers for this ;), I would have to test it.

this is what I think. you don't need a teamtalk server because you can just talk through your daw. Unless you guys really want to use it, however talking through your daw is the best option for me. Here are my top options. Sonobus is my favorite, then jamulous, then ninjam with reaper users only I think. maybe it's not just for reaper but nonjam is cool because you play on the next bar instead of having latency. however sonobus is my favorite. I think I got stuck with jamulous so don't know it that well.

OK, I see that a lot of people use a sono bus. I tested it today and it seems cool ;). Yes, if we used a sono bus, talking via daw would be possible and comfortable, so I like your proposal.
