this is nice, you can listen to 4 full on hold tunes here. Ofcourse, it won't connect you to anywhere, it's just a demonstration line, but the interesting thing is that if someone else called before you and is listening to the music, it will say you're number 2 waiting to speak with someone, your time on hold should be 30 seconds. Thank you for waiting.
It's one of my favourite numbers to call when bored.
this telephone exchange beeped at the beginning, which I think shouldn't happen normally. Later ou can hear skype dtmf tones, I tried to press star to get in to the menu and change some options and then pressed some number, and it beeped at me again. I think it's a forgotten exchange and nothing is connected to it.
I don't know what this is, maybe it's a way to monitor something if it's working?
Yes, wake up calls were a thing a long time ago. You were able to order a wake up call for a time ou've given and you would hear this. Recorded this year by me, surprisingly it still works.
I think what I've recorded is a malfunctioning thing which was supposed to play some kind of message. We can hear the noise and a pop which indicates the end of a tape. This is my theory anyway, maybe someone has a better explanation. Recorded this year.
This hotline was a part of a marketing campaign for the super mario brothers movie released in 2023, which I recommend everyone to watch anyway.
So, I called some number which I don't remember anymore. It was basically trying to transfer my call over and over. I think that was some scam line or something similar.
This is weird. I guess this is some kind of pbx, because when I called again and pressed star it stopped repeating hello hello lol.
another announcement test, but it's totally worth hearing
Um, what feature?
This is my worst nightmare, it happens every time when I try to call the talking clock and similar services through skype.
I'm surprised this one is still active since Bell Atlantic merged with Verizon
For context, this is one of the still active test numbers from old days, back when payphones were a thing. I called this number through skype, since it's the cheapest way for me to make international calls.
Yeah, for those who don't like that kind of stuff, I'm sorry for spamming lol, but telephony ethusiasts will probably enjoy these.
This is yet another thing which I can't figure out what it is, the recording is mine and was made this year.
Yes, this still works, but as you can hear, there's some static in between, not sure what is causing it
I don't know what that is lol
I called t-mobile US mailbox system, and it asked me to type 3 numbers. I didn't type anything on purpose to hear if they are being generated on the fly, and they indeed are, pretty interesting.
Some time ago I've recorded this, not sure what is that digital transmission about but it's weird, never heard anything like that before.
Posting because maybe someone has an idea what it might be.
I'm not sure from which carrier is this one. It says something like this number doesn't exist, please check the number and dial again.
Since I love listening to the korean language, I decided to call some numbers and record stuff. Here we have the announcement that we'll be redirected to voice mail if nobody answers, and that after a beep the call fee will be charged. After a beep there's SKT's voice mail, where we are told to press 1 to leave a message or 2 to leave a number whatever that means, or maybe I don't understand it well.
I'll upload some more korean recordings soon.
Enjoy
Yay, more phone recordings from Potato! This is a real thing made by humorhotlines.com. Enjoy
another thing from popcorn tycoon.
Nothing special, just me playing my favourite level in rhythm quest. This is the best tune in the whole game.
Since no one has uploaded this anywhere I decided I'll record it and upload it myself. This is a silly tune playing when you consume a popcorn brownie in popcorn tycoon- a game for Alexa. Enjoy.
Hey everyone, I finally got myself a pick up coil with suction cup. It costed me a lot because had to buy it from amazon US but it was worth it. So here's my first recording, ipod classic 6th gen starting up and then shutting down. The sound card I use to record is Creative Soundblaster X-Fi 5.1 pro.
Do you also think that swedish guys are the best at making emotional chiptunes? Look at Zalza, Joule and Malmen for example.
The thing I remember the most about my childhood was that there wasn't anything like copy right law regarding software piracy here, so you could go to the market and find a guy who had a ton of DVDs with latest games and stuff for a very low price. That also meand there most likely were keygens or custom installers with music or chiptunes. This is one of those tunes which I remember from back then.
Hope you'll enjoy it.
So, once I found this hold music. It's really cool, but so far I wasn't able to identify it. All music recognition and reverse search engines didn't help. I posted it on subreddits dedicated to finding music, but that didn't help. I know it's just something stock, but I like it a lot. Apparently this music plays when you're on hold when calling boots, which is a franchise of farmacies as far as I've read. Not sure if that's their on hold music still. I took it from a youtube video, then edited a bit.
This is music on hold from an old pbx, not sure what company made it and what model it is. I removed all "please stay on the line" messages and looped that tune.
Heard this ringtone a lot in different public institutions when I was a kid, and after some time finally found it.
